Clubs and Trips
Amnesty International
Amnesty International, an organization whose focus is the rights and welfare of human persons, concentrated on Tibet as an area of concern. The club continues to explore the issues surrounding the quest for Tibet’s freedom and about the Dali Lama as a political and religious leader. By watching films, having animated discussions, campaigning for justice through Amnesty’s Urgent Action Letter Writing Network and the annual Jamnesty dance and the Trash Fashion Show, students became aware of the varying opinions in the world around us and even in our own community at MPS.

The Chinese Language and Culture Club

On Thursdays, native students present various aspects of Chinese culture.

Beginning their third year, the Green Knights continue their drive toward making Marianapolis a more environmentally-friendly campus. They continued the recycling program and have been considering ways in which to improve and expand; the Knights have also been focusing on raising funds to install solar panels on top of the main academic building. Last, but not least, the Knights have spent considerable time discussing environmental issues and watching educational videos as well as sharing their newly acquired knowledge at school events like the Amnesty dance.
